The average BJJ purple belt has around 4-5 years of training. Sometimes more, occasionally less. . .

In many universities, grad students with 4-5 years of school often teach general courses to undergraduates.

I know several advanced blue belts that have opened sattelite 'clubs' that were quite sucessful. (most of them are purple now)

It doesn't happen as much now because there is starting to be a higher saturation of BJJ.

It seems I have dug myself into a whole. Give me a moment to discuss the situation with my attorney.

    LOL @ Stold2!!!

    Greese1,
    >Yes, but Bruce Lee wasn't teaching pure WC.

Hmmm, so where does this leave us? Someone who didn't complete a style moves and opens up his own school, teaching his own (made up) style (he called it Bruce Lee's Gung Fu, I believe)? When put this way, it does seem rather McDojo-ish. Not tryin' to rag on the guy, just thought I'd point this out...

Everyone here should know by know that I am no Bruce Lee fan. If someone can beat up other trained fighters, they probably have something to teach.
To be honest, he probably had a better understanding of Wing Chun in general and fighting in particular than most of the so called Wing Chun masters and grand masters running around today.
    Unconditional agreement.

Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog
