From the website for a club called K.O. Kung-Fu Karate. The system of Bok-Fu-Do (White Tiger) was founded by Grand Master Richard Lee in 1967. Its roots can be traced back as far as 2500 years to the beginning of Chinese Martial Arts. Bok-Fu-Do encompasses the most effective and devastating methods of self-defense known to man. Grand Master Lee has probably done more traveling in his research of the various martial arts styles than anybody in the history of martial arts in America.

Can't explain the shroud of secrecy, but Rich Lee is very connected in China, all the way to the top of the government. This could explain some of the secrecy, not sure. Why not just give him a call at his school out in Calfiornia and ask him for more information? Or visit him if you're nearby. It would be interesting to know more.

This is an old thread and Beka actually ended up coming to one of our demonstrations. There's a lot of information on our website regarding Bok Fu Do and the martial arts history of GM Richard Lee. A link may be best because the writings are pretty lengthy.
