    Nice double post there.

Not sure where he gets his 20% crap from. Never heard of that before.
You are correct because you seem to be argueeing for 'fit for this specific activity'
Not sure what his point is, then again I skimmed it.

It's all about perspective, 'fitness' is ill defined.

I think this article makes the same point with more clarity and generality than the 'kicking is teh fitness' article: http://crossfit.com/cf-download/CFJ-trial.pdf
If a `religion' is defined to be a system of ideas that contains unprovable statements, then Godel taught us that mathematics is not only a religion, it is the only religion that can prove itself to be one. -- John Barrow

Fitness by itself is way too broad to define clearly. A general guideline basically uses a combination of strength, cardiorespiratory capacity and flexibility.

I think the only cemented definition I've ever come across is: "Fitness is having enough energy and physical ability to get through daily activities and have some reserve for emergency situations"

Strength, endurance, flexibility (with caveats), body composition (with caveats), injury resistance.

    Health is another matter...technically.

    Simple enough, eh?

Yes,my point is criteria for fitness depends on the type of activities you are performing~~~
His point,it seems,is that he based it upon aerobic fitness alone, and quite evident he is a runner~~~

Thx for the input from the rest of you, seems too vague to define.
