    Well for me it was a change of diet and more MA classes. I cut out fast food (as well as deep fried foods...but I did cheat a little with that one) and ate mostly chicken and fish instead of red meat. I was working out about 6 days a week (I was only working part-time, so I had a lot of free time), but it was mostly cardio (forms, drills, you know...classic Kung Fu stuff) with some dynamic tension exercises almost every day (muscle and tendon changing classics).

    In the end, I didn't get any stronger, but I did gain a lot of speed because I wasn't dragging around that extra 40lbs. Of course being 160 with no real muscle to speak of (except in the legs), I'm going to do it differently this time. That's why I'm browsing these forums. I was fooling myself into thinking that weight training would add too much unwanted bulk...but that's Bullshido, so I'm planning on a different workout plan (more squats, deadlifts and bench pressing).

    I have since put all that weight back on plus more. I wasn't able to keep up that pace of cardio, and I've been eating more crap. Family life really caught me off guard. I got married, bought a house and had two kids (or my wife did anyway). And now even through some rough times, I'm going to buckle down and actually start getting into shape the right way (the Bullshido.net way).
