In 1998, I went from either 220 or 230 down to 190 in 3 months, doing my version of Atkins and rigorous strength training.

Omega, there's a couple of different options with varying levels of accuracy. Electrical impedance is most common, water weighing or the BodPod displacement method are also accurate, but more expensive. Calipers can be accurate if done right.
The most accurate one is some kind of body scan. I think it was like DOXA scan or something. Can't remember. It was like an x-ray for body fat.
