Gi shorts cleared for BJJ competition?
I've got a bright shiny new pair of gi shorts that are itching for competition use. Here's the thing, my instructor is fairly certain they're legal to weigh in and compete in, but, well, haven't seen any..... and I totally forgot to ask at the Dallas tourney last weekend >_<
Anyone in the know, please fill me in.

What exactly are you ask about? If shiny pants are OK, besides being viado?

ugh, they're blue- no shining! It's just that they're shorts, you know, no pant past the knee. Are they legal attire?

You must wear pants in BJJ. You could wear your gi shorts in Submission Wrestling though...

Shorts would be illegal in gi BJJ competitions, but fine in no-gi.

Argh, foiled again.
I think I'll just take a break while working my spider guard and roll my pants legs up.

My cousin gave me some tapes of him doing tkd. I learned from those tapes. When I beat up an Akido instructor, and made him take rest breaks, I used TKD. I learned Bjj from watching ufc and pride and then I copied them and wrestled my cousin for practice. I choked him out and he tapped.
