I get abrasions from people trying to sand my face into a suitable deck with their forearms. Gi's are fun.

yes, it's "opportunistic", S. Aureus is everywhere on the human skin

see, I remember something, my micro degree still isn't totally useless :icon_roll

something else to note for those of us into body art...... tattoo and piercing parlors can be ripe with staph infections. if the artists/piercers are infected, they can spread it on to all their customers, it can be contagious sometimes

A friend of mine from training ended up getting a staph infection in his cauliflower ear which is very serious because it's so near the brain. He ended up getting his ear bitten off in a fight a little later on (I'm not sure if it's the same ear though). He's in court today regarding the assault charges against the guy who did it. For anyone interested, there was a thread about it a long time ago.

I read this thread right as I got home from class one night, the next day I had what looked like a cross between a big zit and a bug bite on my elbow....

It's going away as I apply ZapZit, and it's not developing a core, so I guess it's just a zit. But I was scared for a couple days. :-)

    FYI
The symptoms I described are NOT for MRSA.
    Just regular staph.

    Even Hilary Swank wasn't immune:

During the making of Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby, she noticed a blister on her foot, she popped it then later saw a rash developing around the wound.
