I don't like "bodyweight" exercises (dips, chins) since there's no progressive element; you either have too much or too little weight.I'm not sure how much lifting you've done.
Its not complicated, people get very confused.
Try this basic program.
Twice per week:
Squats 2 x 12
Shoulder Press 2 x 8
Deadlift 2 x 10
Chin Ups 2 x 8
Dips 2 x 8
--------
That's why I recommended lat-pulls instead of chins, and bench-press instead of dips.
Also, two sets isn't really enough to build muscle; you usually need the third set to get maximum effect. -

Also if you need extra energy to excrises, try drink Sobe, tea, or smoothie. Also it would be helpful to take a quick plunge in cold water then warm up before you start to excrises :-)

The rotator-cuff is worked well by lat pulls; that's another reason why I recommend them more than chins, since it's almost impossible to do a wide-grip chin town to the back of the neck with full bodyweight.BE REALLY CAREFUL OF YOUR ROTATOR CUFFS! Strengthen your rotators before hitting the weights hard. This summer I was lifting a lot AND swimming four or five days a week for about forty-five minutes at a time. I injured the internal rotators on my right arm. It's no joke. I am now a rotator cuff missionary. -

There's an excellent book called "The 7 Minute Rotator Cuff Solution". Quickly, one thing you can do is get one of those bands/tubes that physical therapists use. Rotator cuff exercises are hard to describe. Just remember never to "pour".How do you strengthen the rotator cuffs?
**The most miraculous power that can verifiably be attributed to "chi" is its ability to be all things to virtually all people, depending on what version of the superstition they are attempting to defend at any given moment.**Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog -

Caffeine isn't that good if used more than 2x/week; however any sugar-drink will help with energy during a workout, although it's important to drink water as well. Also if you need extra energy to excrises, try drink Sobe, tea, or smoothie. I don't think jumping into cold water will help much, however 25 reps with a light weight as a warmup is absolutely necessary before lifting the full weight. -

Just wait until you hit thirty. The pounds will accumulate like magic! You won't have to do a damn thing except watch TV and drink beer, it's amazing!
"Go cry about it Vargas. Aren't you late for your shift at McDonald's?""I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."
