As I was watching boxing last night I realized this might be an awesome venue for American NHB. Television series have done as well as those on regular network and regularly step outside the constraints of those networks. HBO also did an excellent documentry on the fall of Mark Kerr. It almost seems natural for HBO to try out the UFC and the UFC to want to try out HBO. Are there any reasons out there why this won't happen?

    Yeah, John McCain.
"I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."

because boxing pays HBO tons of money to keep their rival, the UFC, out of the mainstream

boxing also pays off John McCain

I think someone should invite John McCain to train at a MMA place. Some high-profile one, clean, well mantained, good PR, teach him some BJJ, then slowly try to let him know why we also train striking... and then demonstrate how its safer than boxing, that you can tap out, have a ref stop it easier than in boxing, and have your ring throw in the towel if you're about to lose.

Let him know how hard people train, how intelligent they are, that we aren't just a bunch of roidheads... Maybe then he'll change his opinion. This is only because he does not understand whats going on, honestly.

Is this consipiracy theory - doesn't mean not true

    - or public knowledge - ie. its in their network contract that no other fighting org. can be on same channel.

Yes. If you keep punching in UFC youll break youre hand. Less punches = less headhunting = less brain damage.
Interesting logic, even if it is somewhat flawed.

Stold2, there's a lot of strong medical data backing up the claim that NHB competitions are actually less dangerous than boxing. You shouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

**The most miraculous power that can verifiably be attributed to "chi" is its ability to be all things to virtually all people, depending on what version of the superstition they are attempting to defend at any given moment.**
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog
