my mom has this and its really really bad, her whole body is mis aligned and she suffers alot of pain.
BE CAREFUL, there are FUCKLOADS of doctors who have no idea what they're doing regarding this, things like putting splints in the mouths and such.
be careful and good luck, you do not want this to get any worse.

As an update: looks like it's been healing pretty well as when I went to the orthopedic surgeon he says it's in a lot better shape and that no surgery is needed. I just need to take it easy and still can't spar for a while (dammit!), take some Motrin throughout the day and a Flexoral at night, then just exercise it after I heat it up and it'll be all good

Massage therapy offers some good techniques to deall with the muscle tension and pain that often result (or contribute to) from TMJ disfunction. (I teach massage therapy)
Find a good therapist in your area who does TMJ work."You know what I like about you, William? You like guns AND meditation."

You bet! I hope you heal well. It is worth treating - my good friend fuqqed up his jaw throwing a guy in a judo match. He basically slammed himself down on the side of his jaw. He won the match, but had to stop competing."You know what I like about you, William? You like guns AND meditation."
