    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    dislocated or broke finger?

i hurt my left middle finger today. the knuckle between the metacarpal and the proximal phalanx is swollen and painful. it hurts to move my finger. the finger just barely points to the left when viewed from above. pushing on the metacarpal isn't painful so i don't think my hand is broken, pushing on the proximal phalanx isn't that painful, the pain is concentrated at the interface between the two. I was just going to RICE it, but the fact it isn't pointing straight has me worried a little about dislocation. I can pull on the finger to 'pop' the joint and there isn't much pain. could i just have sprained it really bad?

    thanks,

I would say, try the 'stomp test' first. If it fails, then probably go see a doctor.

I think you should go to the Emergency room and get that break set properly as soon as possible. Before too much swelling sets in, ice it. If your finger isn't straight anymore it is fucked up.

What the hell? Don't be like me, go to the fucking doctor!
