Question on kesa-gatame (judo)

neither would I in a judo fight.
But that was the origial question ( admittedly by someone who learned kesa gatame from a book)

I would particularly not be concerned if I am taller and heavier than all my opponents, like Anton Geesink in the picture above...

I have been at one of his seminars.
Yes, he is old.
Yes, all his young guns actually run his seminars.
But he is what 65, 70 & years old.
He is still huge !

I would also like to add, that the the 1964 Olympic final( from which this picture is taken ) lasted nine minutes and twenty six seconds, of the scheduled fifteen minutes.

We have a judo guy at our BJJ school who is known as a one trick pony. But damn, can he make that one trick work. He leaps into that position, and holds on to it for dear life. The guy is a more ten year judo black belt from the Czech Republic where they probably train on wooden floors for hours on end.

There's only one guy in our school who can escape it with any regularity and he is a purple belt and a yoga 'master'.

I was caught in it 5 times in a row last time and felt as though my spine was being bent in half. The next day I had the most almighty pain in my neck.
