WWE guys (yes I know it is sport entertainment). But they are really good athletes. If they were put into a match for real (Vale Tudo, UFC, etc), who do you think would fair best? Do you think they would do better against someone like Rickson, or Sakuraba then say a professional boxer like Lennox Lewis, or Tyson?
I don't think being muscular or athletic (ie. WWE-types) means you'd do well in tournaments. Tank Abbot's packing a few extra pounds there, but he does pretty well. None of the Gracies looked like they were on the 'roids either. I think experience and training are better determinants of tournament success than how big your biceps are. That said, I understand more than a few of the WWE "superstars" have done more than showboating in previous careers.

I read somewhere that Ken Shamrock actually liked being in the WWF.
    Whats not to like?
Someone that had nothing left to prove real fighting, can continue to train hard, perform to sellout crowds in fixed entertaining matches, and make 3 times the money that MMA guys make.

Pretty much anyone with good "scientific wrestling" background like Brock Lesnar would do well. It's a given that they have what it takes physically, so as long as they keep it on the ground and get in strikes or an elementary submission, they could do average at least.

    Quick search shows these results:

Tony Halme (the only Westerner I know who went from pro wrestling to MMA, not vice versa): 0-2-0

Nobuhiko Takada (of Takada dojo): 3-6-2 (and those 2 draws should have been losses)

    Alexander Otsuka: 2-11-0

    Kazuyuki Fujita: 6-3-0

    Yoshihiro Takayama: 0-4-0

This is admittedly skewed in that it shows mostly Japanese pro wrestlers, but as I said I can only think of Halme as a Western example. Anyway, total record of 11-26-2 for pro wrestlers in MMA. Unless the Westerners are that much better than the Japanese (which I doubt because the Japanese guys are more likely to have an amateur background), I think it's pretty obvious that the pros can't compete in MMA.

Steve Blackman-has martial arts background supposedly, haven't seen him on TV for a while, but then again i don't watch WWE
    Chris Benoit-?
    Lance Storm-?
Perry Saturn-maybe, age is a factor, late 30's maybe
    Eddie Geurrero-um, no
Brock Lesnar-only because he is super huge and strong, he can just pick the guy up and throw him away
