Knees seem to take forever to heal. I popped my LCL on June 1 (audible pop), and it was November before I could sit in seiza. PT helped tremendously. Just make sure you go to a good doctor, and give it time & PT.

Most knee injuries take a lot longer than 8 weeks to "heal".
    What about rehab/physiotherapy ?
Exactly. I suggest regular visits to multiple doctors so you can have a second opinion. I'd take the doctors advice though and just rest.

Being of the medical profession myself:
A lot of docs, including trauma specialists do not know enough about recovery and rehab. Trauma surgeons and orthopds are very good in fixing acute problems such as broken bones or torn ligaments. Sport physicians and physiotherapists often have a better education. In Germany you can get the title 'sports physician' by attending a 6 weekend course fo GPs. In Australia it's a three year postgraduate course with exams and so on.
So you need to shop around . Find a physio who works with athletes and not just with old gomers. Find a good sports physician
? Do you need an athroscopy
? Is swimming good for you- especially the breaststroke leg movement is not necessarily good for the knees.
? Did you really rest - or did you train through the pain.
All this can't be answered in an internet forum. See somebody who knows what he is talking baout.

I'm sorry for being called out in the thread title and being unable to really lend my hand to this situation. Now, when you're healed up and ready to try to strengthen again around the injury, let me know. That I CAN help with.

Okay cool - it's all good, I just wanted some opinions. I looks like rest is the important thing for it.
