Keep your hands up!!
I know most people here say it, and mean it.. however, I really think we disagree what how high. I've trained with some TKD guys that call hands at chest level "up". Boxers tend to call chin-level "up". I prefer hands at brow level, because that's Muay Thai. I voted for cheekbone level even though throwdown videos show they never go above my chin.

If i'm sparring MT, the lead fist is at eyebrow level while the rear fist is at cheekbone level.
If I'm being robbed at the bank, they're waaaay above my head.

I keep mine around the chin, cuz I can't go too high. I'm more a grappler than striker."Prison is for rapists, thieves and murderers. If you lock someone up for smoking a plant that makes them happy, you're the fucking criminal." - Joe Rogan

Chin generally, Depends on how the person I'm fighting is fighting. If it's more kicks than anything else, I have a high and low guard, mostly strikes, hands up like a boxer and the closer I get to the person, the more I'm guarding my head, like a boxer.

My hands used to be at jaw level but right now the kickboxing coach I'm working with tells me to put them at cheekbone level, so I do.Best Vietnam War music video I've ever seen put together by a vet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDY8raKsdfg

Had to look in the mirror to get a true assessment. Left is typically eyebrow level and the right is between the eyebrow and the chin. Odd that they are not the same?.

Na that's not odd. I do the same thing. My hands are never level. It adds a bit of mystery as to what I'm going to do with them. Hand placement is a a partial way of determining how a fighter fights.

It usually depends on my distance from the opponent ifi I'm inside of kicking distance then there usually at chin range or higher, at kicking distance it might be at chest range or lower so I can see. Also depends if baiting or not."Its not important to be strong, its just important not to be weak."

Where my hands are depends on what's going on. I'm a dedicated distance junkie. . .most of the time I'll dictate when, and if you can reach me. Therefore, I'll position my hands any old place.
