In Ireland, Gi is slang for vagina.
Imagine the smirks I get from my Irish friends.
"I'm not allowed to put my fingers inside his gi."
"This guy had a really smelly gi."
"Sometimes I like to grab their gi, pull it out and wrap it around their neck."
"Somebody pulled my gi so hard it nearly ripped"

Would the clothing you wore today be closer to a Tshirt and shorts, or a Gi?
Here in Las Vegas it was about 40 degrees all day. I was wearing a jacket, longsleeve shirt and some pants. Wore the shirt and pants all day at work. Jacket back on when go outside.
If it were all about 'teh street' I would say that a good portion of the year I will be wearing clothes and so will my attackers. Im gonna say the Gi is more realistic for me than a lot of guys who wanna bump titties wearing just a pair of shorts~ -

Well I suppose thats one reason not to do it. I've found that on people significantly bigger then me I cant bring my thumb into play enough to grab their arms normally. I've also found that on people of a similar size slick with sweat if I grab rather then 'hook' with my hands they're too slippery to hold on to. Originally Posted by Repulsive Monkey

The club I train at mainly uses a gi, although at the monet we are rolling no gi as a few guys are entering a amatur mma comp at the end of the month. As there aren't that many BJJ comps in the uk we have people some times entering submission wreslting comps, again in the lead up to these we roll no gi.
