    isometric exercises

    are isometric exercise good or bad for the martial artist?

    Bad, because in MA you have to move, and isometrics only strengthen in the position they're held in.

    When, if ever, would the use of isometrics be appropriate? I mean pretty much all uses of a muscle require movement in any activity. Are they basically a waste of time?
    Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

    And I had to hold him in a bucket of bleach for 30 min. to make him white. There's no way I am going to be able to do that to an ape.

    What about isometrics for developing strength related to an increase in flexibilty ala Kurtz?

    I have the video and the book but I have not put in the required effort (yet) to draw any conclusions.

    Has anyone used these techniques and what were the results?
