My views on effective MAs have not changed, but I am now a lot more aware of just HOW many McDojos and McSenseis are lurking out there.

This site just shows me how much reverse ignorance there is out there. Don't get me wrong but some people on this sight are so disillusioned with one extreme that they've seem to go over to the other extreme.

I Still believe Tai Chi is one of the most deadly martial arts around, but finding the correct instructor is nearly impossible. Next to Tai Chi, I am impressed with the effectiveness of BJJ. Plus you can learn so much of BJJ easier. I mean its easier to find good instruction, and so much of the learning is based upon sparring anyway.

Although I'm fairly new here, these is what I've realized after coming to this site fairly regularly:
a) a lot of people have been burned by Mcdojos and the people that run them and this has affected their view of the MA in general.
b) some are are still looking for the ultimate martial art.
c) Mcdojos are a worldwide phenomenon (I too have been a victim)
d) A lot of people have seen too many tofu-munching, vegan, new age aikido and not enough of the "hard" stuff. -
