Thread: Self Taught?

    Hell yeah! Hell no!
    Since there are no good striking schools in my area, is it ok to self teach striking? Most of it I get from books(JKD and Boxing) and testing it(like trial and error). Bad idea?

    Did any of you do this?

    As long as you have a friend to train with, its a great idea. You think Bruce Lee went to a dojo for every different art he studied? of course not! He read!

    It may be a good idea to have someone who knows how to strike personally, instead of reading it from a book. Though a simple strike can probably be studied from a book, but with like everything, it'll probably produce poorer results.

    TKD sucks you sad it your self, and the boxing I got from basially the books I read(a **** load!).
