Hey! This guy is from Hawaii and martial arts there are in general better than on the mainland.
There is lots of cross training. Take the women's number one rated collegiate wrestler, Clarissa Chun, also happens to hold a bb in Kodokan Judo.
Toni Giraldi, the head of a Muay -Thai school, was a Kempo tournament champ in the 80's. Kempo Unlimited has organized a tournament that features sport Jiu-Jitsu and Continuous Fighting divisions and schools as diverse as shoot fightin and TKD enter. If you are active it would be normal to cross train and/or take techniques-the Universal Kempo school prides itself on changing, rather than holding onto a particular style.

Vitor Has 10 Wins. TKO'S and a KO and 2 Sub's. Anyway most of his TKO'S like Vitor vs TANK were combinations GROUND AND STRIKES. So it's the same for me. Vitor also is concidered a great Puncher, but in his fights he Uses BJJ alot.
"By this argument you could just say that all the people that do bjj are really doing judo, even if they've never trained in it."
I don't understand the Above statement... -

What he also meant is that most of the same submissions are also in Judo which is also older.
