It's just a pitty that their are so many Mcdojos/Bullshidos out there, and a lot of poorly taught class which aren't necessarily bullshido's.Whatever could people have against kung-fu?
lol, at first I thought it was but sadly I'm quite sure it isn't a joke. Those Kung Fu LA guys are so bad I think the site might be a joke.
As always, I love that sweatshirt boyd :D"Training = pain." - I said that.

It's all about quality control. Ask yourself this question. Of the following fighters, all things being equal as far as size and weight, who would you rather have to face in a fight?
a) A Division I college wrestler
b) A Golden Gloves boxer
c) A pro Muay Thai fighter
d) A BJJ Brown Belt
e) A black belt (or it's equivalent) from Karate, TKD, Aikido, Japanese Jui Jitsu or Kung Fu
If you answered anything besides e), good luck and vaya con dios. The reason so many people bag on the styles listed in choice "e" is because there is no across-the-board quality control on the part of the styles and their schools. For example, if you see a black belt in BJJ from anywhere in the world, you may not like the guy (or gal) or think much of ground fighting, but you can bet they possess a certain level of competence at fighting. If you see someone with a black belt in Karate, you have no absolutely no idea how good the guy really is. He could be pretty tough or he could be a complete *****. You just can't tell anymore. Don't even get me started on TKD, ninjutsu or juko-kai.
So, while there might be some really tough, hard-core karate/jjj/tkd/kung fu schools out there, they are completely lost in the avalanche of McDojos that have swamped the martial arts world. If people from those styles get their feelings hurt reading this website, they have two choices:
a) Work hard to improve their style's public image and get rid of the fluff and lameness that infects your art.
or
b) Stop reading the posts on this forum and return to your blissful ignorance and pray you never get in a fight.
Because face it, if you really believe in 'death touches' or cardio kickboxing or 8-year-old black belts, you will have a miserable time posting around here. You'll be much happier surfing porn sites.

One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."

lol Vargas, that's just so true it's funny :D but not the latter part, which is also correct.

Are you saying there's no such thing as cardio kickboxing or 8 year old black belts (I agree with your aversion to death touches) ? Next thing you know you'll be telling me there's no santa clause or easter bunny <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>Because face it, if you really believe in 'death touches' or cardio kickboxing or 8-year-old black belts, you will have a miserable time posting around here.
I think these things can exist, but they should have appropriate definitions assigned to them. -

While I don't quite agree, as kung fu can knock out/down, I agree that the main point is doing a large amount of permanent damage to the opponent with minimum effort and movement. And I'm not quite sure where anyone said that mentioning them would be lethal....Oooh, goody, another overzealous TMA practioner! I love these guys! Okay, let's hear an example of these techniques that are apparently so lethal, to even MENTION them kills you.
So here's one I learned a long time ago in one of my first San Soo classes.
*Disclaimer* Do not try this at home, I will not be held accountable for your actions.
Opp throws a punch, you evade and block, hammer-fist to the nose and sweep the closest leg at the same time. Then (here's the lethal part) snap kick the temple (thus turning his head to one side) and then heel stomp directly on the temple.
If you went all the way through the technique, there's a very good chance of death by hemmorage. -

OMG! the Santa Clause and easter rabbit isn't real? My mom lied to me! :-O *loud sobbing*
By Varga's question, it deoends on few things. If I want to test my skills, I would go with E. If I just want to kick someone ass really bad I would choose B. I have no fear toward many boxers especially their lacking of kicks, ground fighting, grappling and other things.

Those two sites were pretty sad. Lots of Gung Fu guys suck and misrepresent the art. I am sorry to say this and sound racist. But everytime you see White guys teaching Gung Fu they end up screwing it up and making it chop socky. I am sure that those two sites are not real Gung Fu. You can check out www.bucksamkongkungfu.com and others for good examples of what Chinese martial arts should look like. Also, there are dudes that just do forms and can't fight. And people that do well in both or are just good at fighting. There some some Gung Fu guys in Los Angeles that are very skills fighters. www.harmoniousfist.com is a good example of a traditional stylist that can fight.

All of thee above!!! Feel sorry these guys.

Ah vargas if that was 100% about All BJJ. BJJ is going the way of the MCDOJO and also pple like to fake the funk. I asked here before was their anyway to verify a persons rank in BJJ. No real answer. Reason I asked if because I've met several pple who passed themselves off as BJJ Black Belts only 2 had any real skill. Now these pple open up schools an then what?
Keep this in mind and you will be ok:
Worry about the PERSON wanting to kick your teeth in NOT what ART/STYLE he does.
