With all the kung-fu defending that's been going on lately, I'd just like to remind everyone that most kung-fu is not, in fact, like Shuai Chiao and San Soo and more like http://www.kungfuschool.com/Videogallery.htm
By the way, has anyone ever seen a kung-fu tournament? Is it identical to karate and TKD torneys in the sense that it's hoppy-boppy bounce-slapping, or do you actually see people attempting high-arcing axe kicks and split punches?
Captain's Log: Just a little update for all my TRUE and HONEST friends out there:

I'm sure someone has said this before, but Kung Fu is too broad. The only thing that many styles have associated with all the other styles is country. And it's a really big, old country, eh?

kung-fu could be from northern lohan to southern wing chun, flowery wushu to full contact sanda.

This does not change the fact that 90% of those styles, as they are practiced in the here and now, are absolutely terrible. Just wanted to reinforce that.

90%? What do you base that claim off of?

Kung Fu is a generic term. Karate, judo, BJJ , wrestling etc. could all be considered to be kung fu.

Boyd, I've got to say thats incredibly arogant. Unless you've travelled through chine and have seen dozens of KF styles, you really cant say anything. And you cant judge kung-fu on a few crappy webpages and what you see on tv.

More than anything else, I'm incredibly bored and transparently trolling. And incredibly arrogant.
