So I'm on my feet for hours at a time, with few breaks for sitting (I work at Starbucks).
I've purchased some of those Dr. Scholl's gel-soles, and they've helped alleviate some of the issues, along with some semi-padded socks. But my feet are still in a moderately painful state during and after the job. My knees too, but to a lesser extent.
Any advice on stretches, exercises, or things I can use to help the problem?

Maybe all you need is a nice pair of support hose.

Good soft-sole shoes, sorbethane inserts and rest. A five minute break here and there does wonders.

Nike shox kick ass. I'm a janitor, and I'm on my feet for nearly all of my shift. I have odd feet, to say the least, so I have insoles that make them align correctly, and can't put padded ones in my shoes - I was working in my good old set of docs, and my feet were killing me. A bunch of the nurses have shox, and I asked one about them, and she highly recommended them, so I went and picked up a pair. They were $110, but well worth it to me.
You're just JEALOUS!

Unfortunately, Starbucks requires close-toed dress shoes of a uniform color (I wear Israeli Naots), otherwise, I'd wear shoes like that.

Wear really long pants to cover them then.

I swear by my shox sz's. I wear imports(guess where ;-) from Aldo or Kenneth Cole when I have to look nice. Their shoes are excellent to me. I'll never understand why retail stores unless they're selling dress shoes require nice slacks and shoes. It's so dumb. Hey guys we'll make them stand around all day, and to top it off require them to wear uncomfortable shoes that noone sees! I worked at EB Games for a while. Facist Fucks. Had to do the same **** till I told my boss to f himself.

Make sure to spend time on the ball of your feet, and keep your knees from locking upright. Do achilles tendon stretches.
I would liken it to the boxing or the muay thai of internal kung fu, even though that's like calling apples the oranges of the apple world. --WalkOn

Comrade, you need a good strong dose of political struggle. I think you should take a capitalist and make him wear your shoes. Revolution relieves the pain of the masses.
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog
