How many street fights is "a lot"?

What is a "street fight" for you?, some teenagers brawling in the high school yard or facing knives and bottles in a bar at 2 AM?

The "reality" of a street confrontation is that, different people well use different things and STILL be succesful.
The fact that I prefer parrying and Str33t Guy blocking, means that those are our preferences.
And I am sure that, just like I have the experince that made me prefer parries to blocks, Str33t guy's experience made him prefer blocks to parries.

Lets leave it at that, and allow this thread to get back on topic.

I think that we both have embarrassed ourselves enough with this nonsense.

A solid grounding in the basics will serve one better than all the dirty tricks in the world. That’s my two cents worth.

Basics will always the the core of any system, you can pretty much count on both hands how many techniques are used on a regular basis to win fights, street or sport.

Its when you decide to take it to the "next level" that more expertise is needed.

I’d like to add that the amount of time one can devote to training and that persons natural ability will determine how far to the “next level” they will go.

Skill wise, yes, knowledge wise, I don't think you can put a limitations on that.
