I just got my BJJ MasterText 2 days ago...I haven't study any of the techniques yet but by scanning the book I have made this quick review of the book.

The quality of the book is like a amatuer High School yearbook.

There are few leglocks shown, there's much more leglocks in "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do"!!

The Triangle Choke is shown from only the guard, there was no side or rear Triangle chokes.

The wasn't alot of armbars, there's more armbars in Shamlock's book

If you want to see rare armbars, check out the book "Best Judo"

hehe, everyone knows the Fighters Notebook is good. he's probably not saying anything about it because it was written by a BJJ guy.

    Best Judo is good though.

    I don't have the Fighter's notebook (yet)

Too expensive for a poor guy like me......

I pay $45.99 for the BJJ MasterText, and my next order is a "World Class" Colon detoxification Herb formula that will cost me another $97.50

The BJJ MasterText is currently useless for me because I haven't start training in BJJ or anything...

I could say something witty in response to this, but you haven't been trolling so I won't. I haven't read the Master Text or the Fighter's Notebook, but I know the Fighter's Notebook is good because I've looked at all the samples.

I looked at Gene Lebell's books and they just seem to have too many pro-wrestling type holds in them.

There are supposed to be updates made for the fighter's notebook, but I haven't heard about when they plan on releasing them.

Gene LeBell included them all because he didn't want any 'secrets' to die with him. You never know, they might come in handy, and you can expect other people to try them on you so learning to defend against them is still good.

Sounds like its perfect for you. Why do you want to know advanced arm/leg locks/ triangles if you dont already understand the basics?
Fighters notebook is good but there have been a million techniques/games developed since its release. By that I mean guys are creating crazy games from half guard, open and butterfly guard. Its an excellent starting point though. If you cant afford it, do what I did, post on the net and pay someone to photo copy it for you. (Sorry I know this is sort of stealing) Im poor but "hungry people dont stay hungry for long"
