    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Found kenpo school, mcdojo or not?

Should I consider visiting this school, or would I be better off looking for another one?

But then you have to consider Te (ChuanFa?) came from China to Okinawa, and was a big part in the creation of Karate.

Looking at the web page it's heavy Parker/Speakman/La Bounty lineage. The only issue (IMHO) is how much of the silly Parker slap yourself and how many of the endless drills needed for belt advancement called odd things like Golden Dragon Waves Wand Up Yours (parry nut crunch elbow smash leg takedown arm break throat strike) combos they insist on. Like here in Logan there are two types of Parker lineage schools and one does full contact (with lots of gear) and takes it to the ground (and the senior people look like biker/old hippies), and one point spars and has lots of kids (and they look like Mormons).

If there are Hawaiian Kempo (or Kajukenpo) schools around, they tend to be more uh, the kind of school I like :5innocent

The kempo kenpo schools do tend to prize brotherhood. Maybe it's a Hawaiian thing. (Geeve 'em brah, no shame!)

And the Chinese Karate thing makes sense to them. It's part of their history. I actually think Chow had a lot to do with this, more than Mitose. I mean I did years of Kajukenpo and now I'm into Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo (Mistose lineage + some Parker) and Universal Kempo Karate (Kajukenbo lineage, a "Chinese Kempo" style), and if anyone cares, either google it and learn what they mean or tell me to go look up my papers that were part of the signup and I'll copy out their philosophy pages.

You can't go wrong with Kempo or Kaj. Done right of course. It should be a hard style, very little flash.
