Dude...I gotta say, although I have always hated (and often refuse to suffer) the racial stereotypes applied to Caucasian "westerners" (I live in a heavily HK Chinese area of Canada...let's just say that I've had the term "egg" and "yellow fever" applied to me more times than I care to count.) I think you went overboard there.

Anybody on any site can write and write and write...but the fact of the matter is that nobody builds an opinion about someone from one message...in fact, I have to admit I'm often not even OPEN to being swayed/convinced away from my views until I trust the person disagreeing with me. (For example, yourself, Dochter, Asia, JKDChick and many others here...) So why waste so much time and energy and knowledge on someone who is simply digging in against you?

I think you best go get a full-body massage from that girlfriend...far better use of your time.

Hmm, can't believe yall still posting to this. But anyways.

No the West doesn't have a monopoly on Scientific and Rational thought, you were burning witches when the Muslims were vacinating their kids. But the West is definately the most recent and leading proponents of this. That's why you have terms like "Western Medicine".

I was simply stating that trying to explain Chi Energy through things like "Muscle Groupings" or whatever the various explanations are out there is very difficult. I just think you realize the scope of the mysticism involved in not only EAMA but Asian Martial Arts in General. I've meet people who think they can hurt you, using their minds, from a far distance. Now to us/westerners whatever, that doesn't make the less bit of sense, but to Mr. Psychic Warrior Dude there everything makes perfect sense. That's what I mean, when I say, good frickin luck explaining that mess.

The only person that's gonna have an easy time explaining things like that, are people who actually believe in it and study it. For Joe Smoes like you and me, we don't stand a chance in hell. First, because we don't believe in it, and second this kind of superstitution just doesn't exists in the West as much as it used to.

I guess the important thing is when one is researching and studying another culture one should keep and open mind and be wary of ones personal bias and predjudices that one can pick up from the enviroment from where that person is born into.
