Hey guys, that's cool. I wasn't making any judgement or anything. I understand your positions on this, just noting the irony of it.

I'm all for a little conflict. I for one would be seriously questioning the merit of this board as a martial arts forum if there were none here. The pandering and *****-footing I was witness to on another forum is one of the main things that made this site attractive to me.

    Cheers

I can't stand other forums. What is it about this one?

**The most miraculous power that can verifiably be attributed to "chi" is its ability to be all things to virtually all people, depending on what version of the superstition they are attempting to defend at any given moment.**
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

Dunno. It seems to have juuust the right amount of intelligence, experience, idiocy, insanity, goofiness, and violence. :)

Plus there's a fairly wide demographic represented.

Or, it could just be my unbelievably witty commentary has you all enthralled. But then why am I here? <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I thought it was the avatars....

Wait, I don't use one. (DOH!)

Enough friendly chit-chat. There's got to be something that we can disagree on around here.

Sheol, I think that you DO use an avatar! So there!

Oh no, you're not dragging me into an argument over metaphysics! ...Umm. Ontologically or phenomenologically speaking?

Well, let's see...your "no avatar" is ontologically dependent on the existence of avatars, but it isn't clear which way the dependence runs. You could persuasively argue the other direction. Phenomenology...hmmmm...that is such a widely abused word, and I've given my best at even trying to UNDERSTAND phenomenology...and I'm just not electrified. It doesn't "scintillate with my nature."
I was thinking of semiotics, I guess. That "no avatar" is a clear and legitimate symbol, maybe more significant than an "avatar". Ummm...anyway...

Hey Wastrel is still here. Cool.

I don't think I've spoken directly to you, but always enjoyed your posts.

Glad to see your still here.
