What does one wear to submission grappling classes? I have started doing SG instead of judo and without the gi I'm standing there thinking "What the hell am I supposed to be wearing?" Shorts? T-shirt? Long sleeves? Doesn't matter?

Shorts and t-shirt for starters. To be one of the cool guys, you'll have to shell out 60 bucks for a pair of Sprawl shorts and rash guard, though.

I wear a plain grey t-shirt and board shots. The board shots have only one pocket that velcros shut so no digits get caught in it. It also has a draw string which laces through metal rings, so it is quite sturdy.

Just look through some BJJ gear website and see what they sell, and you should be good to wear it. Here's one taken at random:

Check out the sprawl grappling shirts. They're slighty less ghaiye than rash guards, but not by much.
