Guy Who Pays the Bills and Gets the Death Threats Style: MMA (Retired)--
This is the reason for the light moderation around here; bullshit can't survive unless it's given sanctuary by those who want to believe in it.

Aye, but you should still search, and if you didn't find what you wanted there, then maybe you can ask?
Personally I think none of them have ever sparred properly. The whole point of drills are a set of predetermined actions. Like 2 person katas if you will.
I question my instructor all the time, and I'm a beginner. I dont' do it disrespectfully like "oh that's stupid." but more like "What if he does this, or that?" or "What else can I do from here?" I think any instructor who thinks it's disrespectful to learn isn't a teacher, but a dictator. I don't need to learn Wing Chun from Fidel Castro.
Personally i agree with WCL 100%. We spar, and since then, i've become a better martial artist. Not only do I now know the techniques, I know how and when they can be applied.
And telling people not to speak thier opinions about other peoples opinions just because they have better things to do than read an article? Maybe he should read the document that gives him the rights to play with knives and guns and sit on his forums and lecture others whom he doesn't even know, that probably have more martial experiance than he does...because it just so happens that document also entitles people to Freedom of Speech. -
Modesty forbids more.

"There's a defined moderator presence that stops flame wars but permits substantive discussion regardless of topic.
Nobody gets banned here simply for having an opinion of their own."
Hillarious. This part is good...
"I gave up on a couple of the forums that seem to be dominated by the students of one particular instructor. If they're all training together, I don't know why they need a forum. Don't they see each other in class???"
...but this part is excellent. Go Circle of Death! Oh wait, injuries never happen on the circle of death. How about...Circle of the Mildly Scrapped Knee? That civilisation may not sink,
Its great battle lost,
Quiet the dog, tether the pony
To a distant post;
Our master Caesar is in the tent
Where the maps are spread,
His eyes fixed upon nothing,
A hand under his head.

I hope you've not been left bitter and scared for life, after that Circle of Friends rejected you WCL.
