Reikon, that's weird. I'd have to say that does not jive with what I was told, nor with any of the information that is widely available on LASIK. I'd have to say that either the people you talked to are full of it, or there is something about your vision specifically that makes you a bad candidate for LASIK. At any rate, I can assure you that I have not had to go in for an "enhancement" (though I have an option to do that free for a year), nor does it seem at this point like I will ever have to. At my last appointment they said I don't have to come back and see them at all anymore (unless I have a problem), though they did recommend I still have regular yearly check-ups at the (regular) eye doctor like anyone else. And the only way I will ever need glasses again is if I need reading glasses in my old age, which is unrealted to the LASIK procedure.

I tell you what...if NFL guys are not having any problems with LASIK then I doubt I will (from a contact perspective).

I train with a guy who had it done. He took about 6 weeks off to make sure his eyes were ready and healed. He swears by it, and trains BJJ 5 days a week with no problems.

NFL doesn't get hit in the eyes directly, nor rubbed in the face (a la grappling)...that would be my fear.

I've been told it's probably not an issue, but I'm going to talk to a specialist before I do anything that drastic.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that due to his age his eyes havent stopped changing yet.

I've been thinking of getting my eyes burned out recently. I don't have the funds for it but I still want to know if it is a possiablity.

    It doesnt.

My vision SUCKs... but my eyes are changing so I wouldnt get it for a while. I wear glasses driving and watching TV, so its not an issue for fighting/grappling or whatever.
