    Mazel tov, it´s a grandmaster!
    That civilisation may not sink,
    Its great battle lost,
    Quiet the dog, tether the pony
    To a distant post;
    Our master Caesar is in the tent
    Where the maps are spread,
    His eyes fixed upon nothing,
    A hand under his head.

    sorry for the long wait... after about 3 months or whenever a school lets you go to "phase two" there is sparring. I wasn't very impressed by it though. Unless you go up against some of the really big guys its not even worth it. Now mind you, my only experience outside of krav is with Kaju... but I found I got alot more out of kaju sparring then I did in krav - which I take as a bad sign because kaju is a traditional system.

    How hard was the sparring in phase 2? Nosebleed level?

    Brazilian....Krav Maga?

    Yeah, that's the "other" Krav Maga system. Imi Sde-Or had two main students: Darren Levine and Eyal Yanilov (who claims that Darren trained under him). Both have separate Krav associations. The one under Eyal is more international and has most of the centers in Israel.

    in phase 2, no. you always did a practice punch or two on the other guys chest to make sure you aren't hitting too hard. I found it always really slow. If theres one thing I have learned its that you can go light, and still go fast. In phase three, which I was going to try before I stopped going there is grappling and stand up... but the grappling is sub par and the stand up isn't much better than phase 2. My overall analysis of Krav Maga is its got the right idea, but you could get better results in other places.

    As for the reason I quit, my schedule has recently changed and I'm not able to go to krav. No love lost.

    Mazel tov, TWO grandmasters!

    When one of them starts claiming Imi taught him the real deal in the middle of the night, while keeping all his students in the dark about the Real Techniques(tm) of KM, then we will be cooking with fire. I wonder if their siu lin taos are different.
