I've yet to see that "throw your stick away from the other guy" technique in Kali. Do you learn it at instructor level?

Oh, you mean the Arm Grab/Wild Molly-whop combo, while the "aggressor" makes no move to attack again or even block? I weep for the suckers of the world. And WTF was with the "Boom" sound effects the "defender" was making in clip 3, like a 6 yr old play "Power Rangers" with his friends. :laughing6

If you have 20gs to spare, you might as well hire a body guard.

You don't understand the agresor has no choice but to let go of his stick, since with SCARS you ALWAYS hit him at the nerve behind the elbow therefore he has to let go and stay frozen while the super duper SCARS man goes through his other moves....

Nothing wrong with the principles of SCARS ( Autokinematic response and such), they just tend to "exagerate" a bit on the reactions, that's all.
As for the "knights of SCARS", Rigante did an awesome post/thread on it, I suggest a search for those who wanna know more.

I think what's wrong with the autokinematic response "theory" is that it is more of an assumption than a scientific fact in much of their work. The scars guys don't learn how to strike well, or grapple well either, but depend on those assumptions about autokinematics.

so can a non miltary person with lots of money take a SCARS course? The website makes it seems like the "man off the street" couldn't sign up for a class.

I guarantee that the "man of the street" could sign up--provided that he had lots of cash. Besides, if that's not the case, then where did they get that old guy? I swear that I've seen him lingering around schoolyards before.

Do you think that SCARS people would find it upsetting to learn that they can get the same stuff at a karate class in their local community centre?

I did like the timing of the strike to the back of the arm in the last video, but I got the impression that neither of those guys have ever practiced full-contact sparring in their lives. Pretty much all of the distancing was off and the power was . . . lacking.
