I've yet to see that "throw your stick away from the other guy" technique in Kali. Do you learn it at instructor level?Originally Posted by Canuckyokushin

If you have 20gs to spare, you might as well hire a body guard.

I think what's wrong with the autokinematic response "theory" is that it is more of an assumption than a scientific fact in much of their work. The scars guys don't learn how to strike well, or grapple well either, but depend on those assumptions about autokinematics."Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." – Voltaire.

so can a non miltary person with lots of money take a SCARS course? The website makes it seems like the "man off the street" couldn't sign up for a class.

I guarantee that the "man of the street" could sign up--provided that he had lots of cash. Besides, if that's not the case, then where did they get that old guy? I swear that I've seen him lingering around schoolyards before.
Do you think that SCARS people would find it upsetting to learn that they can get the same stuff at a karate class in their local community centre?
I did like the timing of the strike to the back of the arm in the last video, but I got the impression that neither of those guys have ever practiced full-contact sparring in their lives. Pretty much all of the distancing was off and the power was . . . lacking.
