This wrestler thinks he can hang...

At work I led on that I play Judo (I call it playing because I like people thinking its only a sport) and this guy who just joined his highschool wrestling team and learned a single and double leg thinks he can hang with me in a grapple to submission style match. I laughed at the time, but now that I think about it I'm a little insulted. He is going to be taught "chokes" soon and he keeps saying how he understands submission grappling.

I'm thinkin I should ask him to a no gi match and just destroy him. Thoughts?

Anyone else of higher knowledge ever have to knock a person off their high horse before in a similar situation?

Nothing wrong with a friendly match. He might learn submissions are not as easy as he thought. You might learn some good positioning control techniques. Sounds like a win win to me.

He is going to be taught chokes in high school wrestling? WTF? I never learned a single choke in wrestling especially in high school. Whatever he thinks he's going to be learning is definitely not part of a wrestling curriculum.

I know you all look down upon Bujinkan but I am fairly far into my training, as well I trained mostly one on one when I was learning stuff and in a slightly larger group for practice reps. So yes Boyd, I think I am good for the amount of training I have had (roughly 18 months)

Wakinonion: I wasnt stating that I was soooo much better than him, rather I was asking if the more skilled members of Bullshido (like omega, the Lau's, Osiris, etc etc) had had to show a person they werent as good as they thought.

I know I can beat this guy, he's wrestled for about a week, maybe two and he already thinks he understands how submission grappling works. I just dunno how exactly I'm gunna take him to the ground yet. Probably better not to think to much about it until/if it happens.

I had another highschool wrestler show me what they're like. One was done under the situation that yiou sprawl from a single or double and you grasp his head and arm and basicly tire him out. Not really a choke.
