All that does is add credence to the wanna-be image I have of him in my mind. Big Fish - Small Pond.

Here's contradicting information from Martial Talk. Janulis can't keep his story straight:

"Paul Janulis is a freelance writer out of Rochester Hills, Michigan. He has 18 years of martial arts experience; 13 of those years in Filipino arts. Paul is Degreed from Oakland University, and he heads a wealth management group in his home town where he also teaches a small number of students Modern Arnis, as a member of the World Modern Arnis Alliance (WMAA), keeping Remy Presas’ dream alive in his own way."

I don't see where degree in business and working in a wealth management firm has mush carry-over into tactical training for security and "operators" :pottytrai

While I won't argue your other points, for the sake of fairness here, I feel I must point out that the page in question has not been updated in over a year (actually closer to 18 months for the bio part quoted), and that the information was accurate at that time.

It's obviously not currently up to date.

    1. Masters of Defense are knives designed by people like Duane Dieter and Massad Ayoob. Some of them are pretty neat, but they're pricey for what they are.

    2. "Tactical" is the new Coyote Brown, which in turn is the new black.

In the following thread the exhaulted MOD receives "recognition" for his his contribution to the war on terror when his buddy gives him a company coin while returning home on R&R leave. Man, you'd think he was given the Medal of Honor or something. :icon_puke

It's all a bunch of crap, but at least he doesn't throw in a photo montage like Phat Phil.

I know that in the early 2000s Paliden Press had a bunch of its authors get together and start calling themselves Masters of Defense, besides Knives they also put out some videos.

The leader of this effort was apparently a guy named Michael D. Janich
