I lost Friday!... But I had fun and learned alot!

Nov. 5th Renegades, Verizon Wireless Center, Houston, 13 Bouts on the Card

My Bro and Team Mate, Frank "The Axe Murderer" Kirmse, won by a unaimous decision. He completely dominated his opponent. He owned the takedown and his opponent always turtled up and took shots. Frank must have hit this dude 100 or so times in the ribs and on the side of the head.

My fight (the 10th bout) was against Zane Watson, from Yves Edwards school, Third Column/Thugjitsu. This was Zanes first fight and I doubt it will be his last. I am a little foggy on the details. This is the best I can recall.

Round 1
Punches and Kicks mainly. Pretty even. He kicked the **** out of my lead thigh even though I got it off the ground. I don't believe it was a factor though. I believe his right hand was harder than mine. I am pretty sure I took him down. Good round.

Round 2
I felt dominant. Took him down. He attempted double heal sweep from his guard. I countered with the hips forward stack. I stacked him perfectly. And then it went wrong (for me that is). I attempted to improve position and f**ked up. We rolled around, he mounted me, took high mount and let the palms rain down. At no time was I "defenseless" which is why the ref did't stop the fight . I extended my arms to tie him up. I felt much better about my arm bar counter than I did under his high mount. The arm bar attempt never came. The strikes did and I took quite a few (note: downstrikes were permitted for this event). He was raining strikes down for about 1 minute. Oops. Back to work on high mount counters.

Round 3
I did well especially considering the punishment I took in the 2nd. We traded strikes. I was a little tenetive but still very game. I shot, drove and stalled aginst the cage. We went down in my guard and I locked the Kimura on his right and he grabbed his pants. I took a couple of seconds to rest and the ref instructed me to be more active. I put my knee on his hip and attempted to break his grip. The ref stood us up. F**K! I was there.

Ding. Unanimous decision. Hats off to Saul the promoter, Randy the ref, and Zane my opponent.

The ref and Yves both said I was a tough Mofo. That made me happy.

I learned a alot and I am healing fast to be ready for my fight on the 20th in Dallas!

Oh yeh, we couldn't film because there was a production company hired to produce a vid.

Saul told Frank it could be 2 weeks or it could be 3 months before the vid is ready

Right on muchlove. Sounds like a badass fight. Also sounds like you could've won at a couple different points if things had just gone your way. Ahh well, such is life, nothing to get discouraged about. You're a hell of a fighter.
