Being Conservative (not a political thread)

When it comes to attacking, I've seen some very different styles in play. Some people will put everything on the line--placing themselves in potentially dangerous positions--in order to land a good shot. Others play very conservatively--never pushing an attempt beyond pre-defined boundaries of balance, reach etc. I would put myself in the latter category. How about you?

In grappling I tend to prefer to keep the position rather than taking chances. Methodical and controlling. So, conservative fits.

I prefer to attack just enough to create openings for counter techniques. (striking)

Grappling I unfortunately take a lot of chances, not sure why I treat them differently.
