I read most of that and it was the usual twaddle. Tries to explain something without actually attacking the subject directly. Pseudo-babble designed to make it sound more complicated than it really is just to skip around the simple truth.
Yin/Yang is common fucking sense. Of course there are 2 extremes to most things, and the grey area in the middle. Only obsessive-compulsive people need to invent a complete philosophy on such a basic fact.
Ancient cultures believed in magic? Really? Wow what a revelation. They also believed the earth was flat and was the centre of the universe.
And what the **** is this "primal energy" bullshit. I seriously doubt these guys have completed even basic high school physics. It is sad. Then we come to the fact that the "mind" is just the neural network of your brain. There's nothing mystical about it.
Most cultures use the idea of magic to explain the unexplained. Then later when we use science to find the real answer, the old magic explanations are discarded (except by a few sad folk).
To keep the argument from being one sided, let's also look at the most common "western" religion of Christianity. People still believe the bible, even though most have never even read it themselves. There are resources out there that explain every single part of it, such as:
http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/
I think this quote sums it up:
"Human Heaven? Goodness me. Humans don't go to heaven, someone just made that up to prevent you from all going nuts!"
