Judo Club- Too Good to be True?

So there's this judo club in my town that I don't know too much about. It is run by three black belts, though I have no idea what that means in the world of Judo. The thing that strikes me is the price- 10 dollars a month! Does anyone know any of the instructors featured on this page, or have any advice about what to look for at a legit Judo school? I'm probably gonna pony up the 10 bucks anyway and check it out for a month on my own, but any ideas?

And I know that I sound like a total n00b by asking about a place that is 10 dollars a month. Shut up.

    Judo's cheep
I pay 20 a year to train back in cambridge and 5 a month in oxford. Most judo clubs are non profit organisations, make the most of it.

My judo club is run by 2/3 BB's when the one who travels for work is in town. It kicks ass. It's free.

    Go for it, dude.

Judo is a bizarre exception to the rule that it costs money to learn martial arts. Almost every Judo club is free or cheap as hell. And the instructors mostly do it for fun, and make little or nothing from teaching.

My judo class is a bit more expensive - 60 dollars per month - but that's because it also includes 5 classes of Isshin-ryu karate, which I don't take.

My judo instructor teaches for free as well.

Judo is not what you call an "overhead rich" MA, like MT or boxing for example.
All you need are mats and space.
So unless you are being taught by some 6th degree BB with Olympics medals cmining out of his ass, there is no reason to pay a ludicrous amount of money SOLELY for judo instruction.

Checked out the link you posted and it looks fine. Fairly typical of a lot of clubs - classes aren't huge and have a number of long-timers and are inexpensive partially due to the fact that they use public facilities. $10 for up to 24 hours of instruction per month is a great deal - go!

The same could be said for BJJ, but it has some of the highest prices around.
