    I took the referee course as well (which SHOULD be the same the world over) and the worst that'll happen is that an obvious Thai-style kick will not be counted for your points total and even that won't happen unless someone has an anti-Thai chip on their shoulder.

    sorry i did WTF and at the national level it is an over glorified game of tag.
    ive been competeing all over the US for about 3yrs i just stopped last year

    at that level perfomance is based more on speed less on power when you lose to olympic qualifiers your usually not hurt at all honestly

    as for spin kick you went to the wrong school then ive leveled a 250 pound man and i think mine is kinda weak

    Sounds like you did a good job for your first tournament! I fought in my state championships for my first tournament, and the thing that really surprises you the first time you fight is how quickly you run out of breath. I can go for 20-30 minutes of continuous sparring in training, but for some reason I find myself terribly out of breath in my first round whenever I compete. It goes away in the second round where I get more settled, but its definately something you need to anticipate.
