Are you guys like this in real life? Seriously folks. Shooto gloves? MMA gloves? Boxing gloves? What should I invest in?

    Hahaha!
Well boxing gloves are kinda out of the question.
Karate gloves are fine for me, you can grapple in them, and won't hurt as much as.....
    MMA gloves.

I guess I would recommend ou get these, thing is, they are thinner and therefore are closer to the damage a fist would do. If sparring with them, be prepared to be asked to lightern up on shots, maybe no head shots. He generally all want to stay pretty and out of the hospital.

    MMA Gloves.

    Thoughts from anyone else?

Edit: Partial disclaimer. NO idea the dif between shooto gloves and MMA gloves.

Boxing: Warriors has some nice leather gloves but be prepared to pay $90 for a pair. Really, order them online from Ringside if you can't afford the ludicrous KorCan prices. They are nice glvoes, however.

Karate: CKT is still carrying the Century Karate gloves (puffy fist, no thumb protection). I use them and they'd be my favorite gloves if they had some thumb shielding.

MMA: Warriors sells some half-decent gloves but make sure you try on a range of sizes. Just order a pair of the thumbed NHB gloves from Fairtex so I don't have to buy them unreviewed :D

    Raven - Yeah man, I understand. You *****!!! :D
Got a midterm on the following thurs and Sat....

Sorry, are you reccomending karate gloves or MMA gloves? Your wording is sketchy.

I'd vote somewhat better padded (on the knuckles) MMA gloves.
