    Bruce Lee's fights documented

Hey, while searching for something else I ran across this old article I did documenting Bruce Lee's fights. I'm not a big Bruce Lee worshiper, I was just trying to make a list of the actual record according to his documentaries. Anyway, here ..

    http://www.mcdojo.com/article_read.asp?id=68

I'm going to go ahead and cut and paste it here so people don't have to go back and forth.

    ---------

    BRUCE LEE'S DOCUMENTED FIGHTS!

"Martial Arts Presents: JEET KUNE DO Guide" (www.cfwenterprises.com) Magazine July 2001 issue on pages 60 - 67 has an article written by Mandy Sayah and William Cheung. It details the following accounts:

    * Bruce Lee and William Cheung (both students of Yip Man) as teenagers surrounded by 6 men and then fighting until they had "finished off their attackers with minimal effort"

    * Bruce Lee boxing a priest named Father John (a boxing teacher) and showing him up so badly that the father asked him to join the boxing team and assist him in teaching.

    * Bruce Lee threatening to cut a bully into small pieces with a knife if he didn't stop stealing lunch money from the other kids their age. He got expelled for it.

    * Bruce participating in a boxing tournament in which he first defeated the much larger winner from the previous year by KO, then another guy in the semi-finals by KO and then beat a guy with a 40 pound advantage for the championship by KO.

On the documentary: "Bruce Lee: Curse of the Dragon"

    * Robert Lee (Bruce's brother) says Bruce got into a couple fights a day during his teen years. His parents were concerned that he would bring shame to the wealthy family (his dad was an actor) so they sent him to live in America.

    * Herb Jackson (one of Bruce's students) tells the story of a guy that climbed over Bruce's wall while Bruce was an actor and challenged him saying, "How good are you?" Bruce beat him up.

    * Fred Winethrop, a producer for Enter the Dragon states that Bruce was being challenged all the time while they were in Hong Kong filming. He says that they were "fierce encounters" and that Bruce knocked the guys out. People got hurt.

    * Bob Wall tells the story of an extra that challenged Bruce Lee on the set of Enter the Dragon. The challenger was a lot bigger than Bruce. He states that Bruce "kicked the hell out of him."

    * Linda Lee Caldwell details her eye-witness account of the same challenge match from Top Fighters. She explains that Bruce beat the other fighter so badly that he ran from Bruce. Then Bruce cornered him and forced him to give up.
