Dumbest excuses I've heard not to train;

I believe that stems from the whole "I don't wanna seem weak and get laughed at" complex people have when joining a school/gym. My personally feeling is that everyone has to start some where so I don't rag on people when it comes to how much they can lift.

hehe, I tried to use this one when my friend was hassling me for not showing up to train BJJ with him. He always laughed and called me on it (us actually, my brother was using the same excuse). Then one day he started the "get in shape to get in shape club" that we could participate in (that was before I got back into MAs again). I had no excuse after that...but I still haven't been to his BJJ school yet, though. *sigh* someday I'll get down there to really start learning the ground game.

The reason I used that excuse, though was because after doing a couple of intro classes at the JSect Academy, I was wiped out before the warmups were done, and just couldn't hang (endurance-wise, I knew that my skillz were far inferior on the ground) during the free rolling. But then my "free class hookup" ended, and I stopped going. The thought of gassing out before actually rolling always stuck in my mind, so I felt I needed to get into better shape to take full advantage of the lessons (of course going regularly would have taken care of that). :)

C'mon man, I knew it was a BS excuse. I really didn't believe it....really.

I think they've scientifically proven that a 1 hour bedroom workout is as healthy for you as a 2 hour session down the gym. At least thats my story and I'm sticking to it ;)
