Could be from something that happened before like a hairline fracture and the stress just fucked him up. For your DLs, are you doing sets of doubles? If so, good call :) Singles and doubles can get you pretty strong, most people don't give them the credit they deserve.

Complete collapse on the first down portion of the first rep. He was a strong guy and presumably MilPressed heavy often. His spotter was there for the last reps, he wasn't maxing.

I generally do sets of ones and twos as you said. Yesterday I did, 370x2, 385x1, 390x1, 390x1 and then 375x2. I do DL's every other week at the advice from a powerlifter I met a few weeks ago. The 2nd time I did 390 and then returned to standing after putting the weight down, I got this major head rush. Everything turned white. :-) Must be the steroids. :-P

You ever pick up Iron Rock Steel, Justa's book? He's got one of the best programs for singles out there.

Ahhh Gotcha, he must of just failed his attempt and brought it down to fast. That sounds a bit painful.

I finally got my own setup at home but do to a huge amount of home maintenance and remodelling that has piled on me all at once I have no time for a set ritual. I have however gotten better since my last my last post on this issue. Last time I tried it, I did about 7 reps at 180. Once I have a set workout set up an followed I should be at body weight in no time at all. :happy3:

This article will give you a pretty good rundown. It's good for advanced lifters, I'll switch off between 5x5 and singles whenever I change workouts. His book gets a lot more indepth about it, as well as awkward object lifting, fun ideas for strength training, and things ike that.
