ok so i called fight house, and confirmed our reservation. and we seem to be set.
anyone who needs further directions or info let me or jay know...
also lets not walk in asking for the "throwdown" the people renting the space might get the wrong idea... ask for the sparring session or open mat if you have to ask at all (my guess is it will be very clear who we are the minute you walk in.

Any chances to the people who indicated they would be attending?

I'm still in.
Think at least one person from SW is coming maybe more.
I'll shoot an e-mail out to a couple of classmates to see if anyone's interested too. They come and go so it's hard to get them to commit.

see you guys there, looks like we will be in the mat area on the far left corner of the room. i should be hanging out in the reception area until we actually get started.

well, we did it, despite the MTA being all screwed up (getting me there 1/2 hour late rather than the 15 minutes early that i had planned.)
we had a decent turnout:
Jaychiu, 5FingazofDeath, Raul Perez and of course me. also i brought Stanford and Matt from my school (although Matt only got there for the last hour.)
unfortunately i was still in gimp mode after the sound beating i recieved from the j-lau death squad last week at the boston throwdown (still have limited range of motion in my right leg.) so i was forced to fight using boxing rules only.
i got videos of a bunch of the sparring, will post some of it when i get it into the computer and online.
one good result was that we may now have access to a space we won't have to pay for, so we may be able to hold nyc throwdowns on a monthly basis.
thanks to everyone who came, and to those who couldn't make it, we hope you can come to the next one.

Just wanted to say I had a really great time yesterday. I was really impressed how everyone checked their egos at the door and was there to have a good time. Each match began and ended with respect. It's a shame I had to leave 1/2 early to catch the train but next time I should be able to stay there the whole time.
I learned a lot from you guys and hopefully you learned from me as well.
BTW... I woke up this morning and stepped out of bed and put pressure on my left ankle.... I must have cursed that mat where I twisted my ankle in about 7 different languages LOL It is killing me today!
What is up with these Icons?! :wrestlerb
