Urine?

I read an article in Yahoo news the other day that talked about Thailand Buddhist monks who drank a cup of urine each day before their fight training. I'm really into Thailand and I like to read about it on the internet and in the newspaper, and I really respect their Buddhists, but I'm not sure about the side-effects of drinking urine? How many of you have tried this? Please don't be embarrassed. I'll start:

I drank a little but it was pretty gross and kinda hard. I had to remember that it's really something to help me.

Seriously this isn't some joke... just search it on the net. I'm looking for actual guys who've tried this and are willing to admit like I have done. Thanks

Here is an idea.

Stop drinking your own piss. Or anyone elses for that matter. Pure, clean water is what your body needs.

Did you know that the monks also ate their own ****?... for spiritual purposes of course... it gave them divine powers.... go try that.
afterwards, someone can change your 'official name' to '**** eater' or 'buddake lover' or something like that.

I will require HEAVY proff on the benefits of the urine to the organism to EVEN consider to give it a try. Have in mind that urine is the waste of the body, doen´st seem a very smart thing to do.

Anyway, are you buddhist? Do all buddhists drink urine? So you read something in the interenet and then, all of a sudden it is fine with you to drink urine?

Considering monks have done everything from turning themselves into living mummies through diet to creating religions out of almost starving themselves to death I'd be very loath to follow anything these groups said without medical research backing them up.

Also, you have to consider that most of the proponents of drinking your own urine are also linked to specific diets so you'd have to consider what the waste products (other than salts and dead cells) would actually be within their urine. I'd suggest starting with a decent diet before drinking your own urine, the benefits would be far greater...
