Attempted Kidnapping Victim & Mother Speak Out
An Exclusive Interview with Channel 3's Gil David
One day in July, Britney's life began to spin out of control when she was riding her bike from a friend's house in Canosia Township. She says two men--one white, one black--in a blue SUV followed her and pushed her off the bike.
Then, she says, they tried to grab her.
"This was such a scary thing that happened to me. I thought I was going to die," says Britney (not her real name).
But the 8 year old didn't give up without a fight. She says she stomped on their feet and did some "karate moves" as her mother, Colette Lee, taught her to do.
"If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, fight, kick, scream, stomp on their toes and do whatever you have to do and turn around and run and don't look back," Lee says.
Those karate moves may have saved Britney's life. Her abductors drove off.
At first, local authorities were skeptical about Britney's story. But, when a second girl reported a similar incident one week later, Britney's story seemed less like a tall tale after all.
The second incident occurred in Rice Lake Township, approximately 10 miles from Canosia Township. According to the police report, the girl was riding her bike when a black man in a blue SUV knocked her off her bike.
She was able to escape from him.
Now, Colette Lee wants other parents to be on the lookout. Her daughter's would-be kidnappers can run, but they can't hide.
Lee says, "I'm going to get you. I'm looking for you, and we are going to get you. You'll never take another little girl again."
Here is a description of the two men, according to Britney:
White male, mid 30s
Black man, early 20s
Driving a blue Chevy Blazer SUV
Minnesota License Plates with the first number being a "4"; the last number, "7"
If you have any information about these two attempted abductions, contact Detective Andrew High of the St. Louis County's Sheriff's Department at (218) 726-2355.
This story makes my blood boil over. I DESPISE pedophiles with a dark burning hatred. I hope these two died a slow agonizing death or give them to me for I will willingly take a manslaughter conviction to end the pathetic life of a pedophile.
