    Aikido Multiple Opponent (Old Footage)

I just wanted peoples opinion specifically on the multiple attacker clips by O Sensei.
Take notice of two clips where he is surrounded in a circle by swords.

And also the multiple attacker clips by Tohei.

those old clips of Ueshiba in the aikibudo days are pretty cool, there's some pretty cool ones out there of Saito Sensei that are in the same vein.

wow, he's really fast on his feet. Especially since he's past 80 according to the site.

One question, in some of the videos the guy rans at him with his hand out like he is going to shake the old guys hand but then gets thrown across the mat. Why does he do that? Is it part of Aikido form or something?

a lot of aikido training starts out with wrist grabs and lapel grabs, it's also the easiest way to demonstrate some techniques -- it comes from the old days when they would be holding swords and somebody would be trying to disarm you or immobilize your weapon arm
