Interesting. Customer reviews gave it 100% 5 stars. Dated but I'm sure it will give us all much to think about.

In the books, The Canon of judo, Best Judo and Dynamic Judo, you will find EVERY possible throw and grappling technique.

I was looking through Best Judo and Canon of Judo today. I don't have much new to contribute to this thread, other than (1) Mifune was awesome, (2) old judo was awesome, and (3) methods for resuscitation from groin strike are awesome.

Whenever I read the title of this thread, I think it says "The Cannon of Judo", and I picture Mifune represented as a howitzers, launching uke like 155 mm rounds.

Why was he called "the Cannon"?

    Did Kimura have a nickname?

    Kodokan Judo

My book came in yesterday. Interesting. I take it this is the "official" book for the Kodokan.

Looks good. Seems I know a few of these leg sweep type things from my karate days.

Not as much on groundfighting as I expected though.

    Katas? That looks interesting.

I will absorb this one before I go ahead with Best Judo and Cannon of Judo. That will be awhile.
